Aiming to walk 50 kilometres from Sittingbourne to Eltham might seem like an arduous task to some, but for the Team Frames Trade & Retail crew we’re taking the challenge in our stride, using it to form the basis of our first major event of the year in honour of Demelza hospice care. You can read all about the great work the guys at Demelza do and how they help build safe environments for seriously ill children here, but needless to say their services are a cause worth supporting.
The key to accomplishing the mammoth task? Preparation
After settling on the ambitious feat of walking 50km (a distance of over 30 miles), we knew that it would take a good level of preparation and training in order to see it through successfully. So despite being able to wear breathable shirts on the day, ahead of the walk this Saturday Rob and Jason are already in full swing exercising and prepping so as to not let anybody down.
We’ve been challenged to try and raise £10 per kilometre in sponsorship, so we’re encouraging family, friends, and customers alike to head on over to our JustGiving page to donate whatever they can. At the time of writing we’ve already raised an impressive £270 to help make a difference to disadvantaged children, but we know we can accomplish more!
Pushing ourselves to make a difference for young lives
As mentioned the walk itself will set off from Sittingbourne to Eltham or vice versa depending on the weather, with plenty of supporters and family members hopefully cheering us on as we go. The best part is that this “walk this way” event is just the another of many we’ll be undertaking this year, riffing off of the success previously had at our charity pub quiz night back in March.
